I found this tribute to June Carter Cash a couple of years ago. Whenever I read it, I long to be the person it was written about. I long to be that kind of person. I think in some ways I am that kind of person, so perhaps that is why I am drawn so much to these words. Of course in some ways, I have a long way to go. I share it because I love it so much.

- About MeI started this blog to talk about creativity. In the two years I've been writing, I realize that it's actually about creativity in a broader sense. It's about living. It's about getting along in this life. I work with thousands of people every year; helping them move towards their unique goals. I see first hand how people are navigating their lives. My work is two-fold. I help them figure out the practical concerns of meeting their college goals. But my favorite thing is being a person who encourages them to go for their dreams as well.
- Thanks for VisitingI have always loved creating. Fortunately that is something my parents always encouraged. Creating doesn't just apply to art though; it applies to all aspects of our life. So, while I like to create in an artistic way, creativity spills over into so many other areas.

I've read this book many times and most of those times have been as an adult. To me it's the perfect story about creating the life you want. I have always loved how Sarah stayed true to her self no matter what happened. It didn't matter whether she was a pampered student or a servent. Then the magic at the end. This was one of the first two books by SARK that I bought. A lot of books come and go in my life but this remains special. I just love her books, especially the earlier ones like this. After I read her books, I began writing many things in colored markers.Julia Cameron: Vein of Gold
It seems like everyone is familiar with Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way. I read this book first and I actually did most of the exercises. This book broke me open creatively. I found it a very powerful book. I consider this to have been a life-changing book in my life.Veronique Vienne: The Art of Imperfection
This is one of my all-time favorite books. When I write people, I often think it sounds incredibly dorky. I rarely feel perfect when I write. But this book celebrates how perfectly imperfect we all are.

- Colleen Anderson and George Castelle: Going Over Home
I found this in the West Virginia store at the Town Center in Charleston one Christmas. It's a local group and they were featuring this the day I was there. I was hooked. It may be their only album but it's a good one. Cherish the Ladies: At Home
I like almost everything by Cherish the Ladies. This has one of my favorite songs on it though, John of Dreams. This cd also features the vocals of Aoife (Have you ever seen a cooler name?) Clancy. She later left the group. Joanie Madden plays the Irish Whistle.Deva Premal: The Essence

This was an Isabella discovery from when I lived in Michigan. It's chanting. It's Hindu chanting. It's Hindu chanting by an American. It's actually sort of a chanting sing-along. It's also incredibly beautiful. Sting is featured in one of the songs. This is my favorite Krishna Das album.
My Girls
- This is a gallery of some of my favorite Girls. All the girls are collages of magazine images that I clip and collect. Of course, I do the cutting, sorting, and moving the paper around but they do seem to have a way they want to be.
